The Oilseeds section of the Department of Plant Breeding and Genetics, PAU, today started a two day training programme on ' Improved Production and Protection Technologies to Enhance Sunflower Productivity in Punjab'. 18 officers from nine districts of the state are participating in the training. Chief Guest and Additional Director of Extension Education, PAU, Dr G.S. Buttar emphasized on the need for diversification in Punjab and motivated participants to popularize the University's improved technologies among the state farmers. CAO, Ludhiana, Dr Baldev Singh highlighted the importance of Oilseeds crops in diversification plan of the state. Course coordinator, Dr Surinder Sandhu shed light on PAU developed improved sunflower hybrids. Earlier, Head of Department, Dr G.S. Mangat welcomed the participants. |
