NSO/NSS/NCC PROGRAMMES

Every student enrolling for Bachelor's degree course in PAU is required to participate in any one of the three fold programmes i.e. NSO, NSS and NCC in first and second year subject to the condition that NSO will be restricted to only those students, who show marked proficiency in sports. The programme of NCC, NSO shall be optional for the students other than those in the first and second year. The foreign nationals are exempted from these programmes. Immediately after admission of the University in the first semester, the Dean concerned/Director Students' Welfare shall complete the enrolment of students under the particular programme/scheme and forward the same to the Registrar for completing the personal files of the students. The students enrolled in a scheme, shall not ordinarily be allowed to change afterwards.

NCC programme is under the control of Deans of the constituent colleges whereas NSO and NSS programmes are under the control of this Directorate.

NATIONAL SPORTS ORGANISATION (NSO)

Aims and Objects : National Sports Organisation is meant to impart intensive training and skill drills in various games to make students enrolled under this programme physically fit. This scheme serves as sports nursery for the formation of University teams which participate in All India India Inter-Varsity Tournaments.

NATIONAL SERVICE SCHEME (NSS)

Aims and Objectives : The overall objective of the NSS, as envisaged originally is service to the community, offered while undergoing instruction, in an educational institution. It is sought to arise the social consciousness of students and provide them with the opportunity to work with the people around the educational campuses creatively and constructively, and to put the education they receive to concrete social use. It has been felt that the primary aim of the scheme is to enable the students to upgrade their personality and experience through community service. Its end is the improvement of personality while service to community is a means through which such improvement is sought to be achieved. The objective of the scheme is ‘development of the personality of students through community service'.
