Field of Specialization: Processing and Agricultural Structures

Research Interests:

Development of low cost processing technologies for enhancing income of farmers and reducing post harvest losses

Ongoing Projects:

  • Design and development of mobile thermo refrigeration system for enhancement of shelf life of fruits and vegetables
  • Standardize the process for enhancement of shelf life of groundnut
  • Development of package of technologies for processing of cereals, oilseed and their by-products
  • Development of the hermetic system for safe storage of agricultural produce without using hazardous chemicals
  • Standardized jaggery production protocol and setting up demonstration unit
  • Setting up of primary Agri Processing Centre in Rural Milieu Accelerator
  • Projects Accomplished:
  1. Evaluation and modification of field baling and briquetting machines for combine harvested paddy fields.
  2. Processing and value addition of major cereal crops of Punjab
