The 37th National Youth Festival at Punjab Agricultural University (PAU) continued mesmerising audiences with various competitions, celebrating India's cultural diversity and artistic prowess. The second day of the festival witnessed spirited contests in one-act plays, classical dances, group singing, classical instrument playing, and various visual arts competitions such as collage making, poster making, clay modelling, and quiz competitions held at multiple venues at the varsity.

The events of the day were graced by distinguished personalities, with Mr Kamal Kumar Garg, IAS, Director of Punjab Milkfed, and a notable alumnus of PAU, serving as the chief guest of the inaugural ceremony. The fest saw the esteemed presence of Mr Kewal Dhaliwal, Chairman of Punjab Nat Kala Academy and a renowned Punjabi dramatist, alongside the revered PAU Vice Chancellor Dr Satbir Singh Gosal. The event also featured Mr Rupinder Pal Singh, PCS, ADC Development, Ludhiana.

Reflecting on his association with PAU, Mr Kamal Kumar Garg praised the institution's commitment to nurturing extracurricular talent and skills, emphasising its pivotal role in his personal and professional journey. Encouraging the participating students, he urged them to prioritise camaraderie over competition, fostering an environment of mutual respect and friendship.

Mr Kewal Dhaliwal expressed his delight in witnessing the convergence of talent from across the nation, hailing the festival as a catalyst for promoting artistic exchange and fostering harmony within society. Dr Satbir Singh Gosal lauded the performers for showcasing India's rich folk music heritage, underscoring the significance of such platforms in promoting secularism and social cohesion.

Addressing the gathering, Director of Student Welfare Dr Nirmal Jaura highlighted the enriching experience of interacting with artists from diverse backgrounds and expressed optimism for the upcoming days' competitions. PAU Registrar Dr Rishipal Singh extended the vote of thanks, acknowledging the participation of representatives from educational institutions and students of PAU.

As the festival progresses, tomorrow's lineup promises an equally captivating showcase featuring Ekangi Natak, Folk Orchestras, Classical and Western Solo Singing and Cartooning, Mehndi, and Rangoli competitions. With each event, the National Youth Festival at PAU serves as a beacon of artistic excellence and cultural unity, embodying the spirit of India's vibrant youth.
