Chairing the meeting for enrollment enhancement in the upcoming academic session 2024-25, the Vice-Chancellor of Punjab Agricultural University (PAU) Dr Satbir Singh Gosal called upon the student fraternity to launch awareness campaign to apprise the youths of the academic programmes being offered by the agri-varsity in various disciplines. Despite being agricultural-centric, PAU has climbed the ladder of success in non-agriculture fields also, be it engineering, basic sciences and humanities, or community science, he said. In addition to agricultural diversification, academic diversification was also picking up fast in wake of new emerging trends, observed Dr Gosal, while underscoring the need to encourage maximum enrollment in the University academic programmes.
Appealing to the students to create awakening among the youths about a wide array of courses available at PAU, Mr Rishi Pal Singh, Registrar, said that maintaining high standards of agricultural education was the prime thrust of the University. Being a premier world-renowned institute which has secured top ranks at the national level, PAU was committed to fostering student-teacher friendly environment both on and off campus though emphasis on quality education, he stated. In addition to Ludhiana, rural-urban students of Punjab and UT Chandigarh can be motivated to seek admission to the Institutes of Gurdaspur and Bathinda as well as PAU-College of Agriculture, Ballowal Saunkhri, he advised.
The students, present in the meeting, also gave their valuable feedback and suggestions to boost the academic enrollment.
Earlier, Dr TS Riar, Additional Director Communication, welcomed the dignitaries, faculty and the students.
Later, PAU VC Dr Gosal released a poster on academic programmes for the new session at PAU. Present on the occasion were Dr Vishal Bector, Dr Lavleesh Garg, Dr Rupinder Kaur Toor, Dr Manmeet Kaur, Dr Lakhwinder Kaur and Dr Ashoo Toor. |
