Professor (Dr.) O.P. Gupta joined as Associate Director (Information Technology) on February 24, 2023. Dr Gupta has also served as founder Deputy Director in the newly developed School of Information Technology. Dr. Gupta was bestowed with PAU Meritorious Teacher Award for the year 2009-10 for his contribution in IT and ICT in Agriculture. Dr. Gupta is a champion of resource generation and helps the PAU exchequer with earning of 1.4 crores with the start of self-supporting programmes and online programmes under dual degree concept. Dr. Gupta is a key player in the development of state of art Information Superhighway at PAU.

Dr. Gupta did his Masters of Engineering in Computer Science (M.E.) from Thapar Institute of Engineering and Technology (Deemed University) Patiala. Dr. Gupta worked towards Doctorate in Computer Science & Engineering (Ph.D.) from Guru Nanak Dev University, Amritsar. Dr. Gupta is a member of International Association of Engineers, Singapore and Computer Science Teachers Association (a subsidiary of ACM), USA.
